About the Wines
Blanc de Blancs Méthode Cap Classique, Cederberg Private Cellar 2016
Cederberg, South Africa
With a cool continental climate, diverse soil types, unpolluted air and free-flowing crystal-clear waters. Wines that are as dramatic as the high altitude setting of the Cederberg. A Blanc De Blancs to be savoured on any memorable occasion. A delicate layer of mousse created by continuous strings of fine bubbles releasing a bouquet of apricot, green pear and citrus. Refreshingly crisp and zesty bubbles with a dry finish.
Los Tros Chenin Blanc, Marras 2020
Swartland, South Africa
The grapes for Los Tros Chenin Blanc are handpicked and treated to both tank and barrel fermentation, followed by 6 months ageing on the lees, making a very drinkable pear and stone-fruited wine, complemented by crisp freshness and a round mouthfeel with a refreshing finish.
Sauvignon Blanc, Constantia Glen 2020
Constantia, South Africa
Constantia Glen’s Sauvignon Blanc opens with bold tropical aromas of gooseberry, white peach and citrus. These concentrated aromatics carry effortlessly to the palate, where they integrate with a rich and textured mouthfeel. A beautifully refined and elegant white with a mineral edge and crisp freshness.
Protea Shiraz, Anthonij Rupert Wyne 2018
Franschhoek Valley, South Africa
Beautiful typical varietal Shiraz with an enticing floral overlay. A combination of red and purple fruit dominates the nose with violets and hints of spice. The palate offers a soft and elegant structure, with a combination of raspberry and blackcurrant flavours that fade into a smokey and flinty finish.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Hartenberg Wine Estate 2016
Stellenbosch, South Africa
This Cabernet offers up everything you`d hunt for in a Bordeaux Cab – deep black in colour with cigar box, pencil shavings and truffle overlaying the ripe, rich red and black fruit beneath. Judicious use of oak and good acidity provides an impressive structure which this pure fruit clings to, offering lingering, fine tannins on the finish.
Serenity, Ataraxia 2018
Hemel-en-Aarde, South Africa
The aim of Serenity is to dispel the unfair taboo around South Africa’s own red grape variety and to prove that Pinotage can be responsible for great wines. A blend of Pinotage, Pinot Noir and Cinsault, this is a complex, smoky, grownup wine, bound to make the cynics think twice. Serenity seduces on an alluring fragrance of black fruit and spice with a hint of vanilla. Resulting in a ‘Pinot Noir on steroids’ – more muscle and curves than the finesse of a true Pinot. A truly, uniquely South African wine.
